British Columbians, protect our north coast from oil spills!
What if you could have stopped the Exxon Valdez oil spill? If we act now we can prevent a similar catastrophic oil spill from destroying the BC coast.
Listen to our radio PSA calling on BC residents to ask government to protect the coast with a permanent tanker ban:
The Canadian government is deciding whether to allow a Tar Sands oil project that would bring over 200 tankers per year to BC's fragile coastal waters. The Enbridge Northern Gateway pipeline would carry dirty Tar Sands oil from Alberta to Kitimat, where supertankers would then carry the oil along the route where the Queen of the North sank.

ForestEthics is joining BC communities to pressure the Canadian government to keep the north coast Tar Sands and oil spill free! Did you see the mock pipeline made of signed postcards we presented to North Vancouver MP Andrew Saxton?
A permanent federal oil tanker ban would protect our coast for future generations from oil spills like the Exxon Valdez that communities are still recovering from today. Currently the federal Liberals and NDP support banning tankers, but the Conservative government does not. You can help keep our coast Tar Sands and oil spill free. Ask your MP to support an oil tanker ban, and then let Stephen Harper know you want leadership, not tanker ships!
