Everything we’ve ever done was impossible, until we did it.
ForestEthics demands environmental responsibility from government and major corporations. We create solutions that protect communities, wildlife, wilderness, and our climate. Our healthy forests campaign has secured the protection of 65 million acres of forests and helped move more than 100 major US companies and millions of dollars of corporate buying power towards environmentally responsible forest products. Our extreme oil campaign is stopping pipelines, tankers, and oil trains that carry the dirtiest, most dangerous oil on Earth.
ForestEthics pioneered corporate campaigning: we confront companies and governments when they fail to put environmental and community health first and support them when they do the right thing. Sometimes a company just needs to understand the problem; sometimes they need a wake-up call. ForestEthics provides the pressure to help them understand how their decisions impact forests, human health, drinking water, and the climate. Then we get down to solutions.
ForestEthics collaborates with companies and government to find solutions that protect people, our environment, and our climate. Our approach works: we’ve helped shift the environmental practices of Fortune 500 companies like 3M, Dell, Staples, Office Depot, Victoria’s Secret, Williams-Sonoma, and many others. Today, products you buy from these companies are more sustainably made, protecting human health, the environment, and the climate. We challenge local, state, and federal governments in the US and Canada through public engagement and lawsuits for strong, timely action, like pushing for new safety rules for oil trains, pipelines, tankers and challenging the government of Canada to allow citizens’ input on new crude oil infrastructure like pipelines.
ForestEthics is on the frontlines of the climate fight. The destruction of forests is the second biggest cause of climate disruption. Tar sands is the most carbon-intensive source of oil. We challenge corporations and governments on healthy forests and extreme oil. We find creative solutions that put our health, our environment and our climate first.
