Green Grades 2008: Report card on office supply sector practices

To help reduce the environmental impacts of the office supply industry, including Endangered Forest destruction, ForestEthics and Dogwood Alliance have been reforming the industry's paper sourcing practices since 2000. Our successful campaigns against Staples and Office Depot resulted in record-high demand at recycled pulp mills in 2005. Still, we know the work doesn't end when a company takes those difficult first steps in response to a campaign. Continual progress require monitoring benchmarks, pushing for better policies and offering assistance with environmentally-sound practices.

We're pleased to announce that—as a result of conducting the survey that led to this Green Grades report card—three of the five office supply companies made significant progress.
